Roofing Services in Billericay

Pitched roofs, flat roofs, chimneys, leadwork and the roofline — repaired, renewed and maintained across Billericay and the surrounding Essex towns and villages.

Roof Repairs

Roof Repairs in Billericay

Slipped and cracked tiles, leaks, ridge and valley problems, storm damage — traced properly and fixed the same visit wherever we can.

Most calls we take in Billericay start the same way: a damp patch on a ceiling, a tile in the garden after a windy night, or water running down a chimney breast. We climb up, find where the water is genuinely getting in, and tell you plainly what it needs — not the biggest job we can sell you.

  • Slipped, cracked and missing tiles or slates
  • Ridge and hip tiles re-bedded or re-pointed
  • Valley, verge and abutment leaks
  • Storm and wind damage made safe
  • Roof windows and flashing re-sealed
  • Felt and batten repairs from inside where access allows

New Roofs & Re-Roofing

New Roofs & Re-Roofing in Billericay

Full strip and re-roof in tile or slate, with new breathable membrane, treated battens and fresh leadwork.

When a roof has had its day, patching it just moves the leak. A full re-roof gives you a new covering, new breathable membrane, treated battens and new leadwork — and a roof that should outlast anyone reading this page.

  • Concrete, clay and natural slate coverings
  • Breathable membrane and treated battens
  • Dry ridge and dry verge systems available
  • New leadwork to chimneys and abutments
  • Timber and truss repairs where needed
  • Scaffold arranged and the site left clean

Flat Roofing

Flat Roofing in Billericay

Extensions, garages, dormers and porches in high-performance felt, GRP fibreglass or asphalt.

A flat roof that ponds, blisters or splits will keep leaking however much sealant goes on it. We strip back to a sound deck, correct the falls and lay a system chosen for the way that particular roof is used and drained.

  • Torch-on felt systems
  • GRP fibreglass flat roofs
  • Mastic asphalt repairs and renewal
  • Falls corrected so water actually drains
  • New trims, drips and outlets
  • Rotten decking and firrings replaced

EPDM Rubber Roofing

EPDM Rubber Roofing in Billericay

Single-sheet EPDM laid in one piece — no seams across the roof, and a long, low-maintenance life.

EPDM rubber is our first choice on most domestic flat roofs. Because it goes down as one sheet, there are no joins across the middle of the roof to fail, and it copes with British weather and UV without going brittle.

  • Seamless single-ply membrane
  • Garages, extensions, dormers and porches
  • Neat aluminium or GRP edge trims
  • Insulation upgraded at the same time if wanted
  • Walk-on protection where access is needed
  • Existing EPDM repaired and patched

Chimney Stacks & Leadwork

Chimney Stacks & Leadwork in Billericay

Repointing, re-flaunching, rebuilds, new lead flashings, cowls and caps — the usual source of a mystery leak.

Chimneys take more weather than anything else on a house, and they are behind a large share of the leaks we get called to. Whether it needs repointing, a new flaunching, fresh lead or a full rebuild, we will tell you which.

  • Repointing and re-flaunching
  • Partial and full stack rebuilds
  • Code 4/5 lead flashings, soakers and saddles
  • Cowls, caps and terminals fitted
  • Redundant stacks taken down and roofed over
  • Lead valleys and parapet gutters

Fascias, Soffits & Bargeboards

Fascias, Soffits & Bargeboards in Billericay

Rotten timber roofline swapped for maintenance-free uPVC, with ventilation built in as standard.

The roofline is what holds your guttering up and keeps birds and weather out of the loft. Once timber fascias start to soften, water gets into the rafter feet. Replacing them in uPVC ends the painting and the rot in one go.

  • uPVC fascias, soffits and bargeboards
  • Full replacement or capping over sound timber
  • Continuous soffit or over-fascia ventilation
  • Rafter feet repaired before boarding
  • White, black, anthracite and woodgrain finishes
  • Guttering renewed at the same time

Guttering

Guttering in Billericay

Clearing, repairs, realignment and full replacement — plus the downpipes and gullies below them.

Blocked or badly-fallen guttering is the cheapest roofing problem to fix and one of the most expensive to ignore: it soaks walls, rots the roofline and pushes damp inside.

  • Gutters cleared and flushed through
  • Leaking joints and brackets replaced
  • Falls reset so water reaches the outlet
  • Full uPVC and cast-iron-effect replacement
  • Downpipes, shoes and gully connections
  • Leaf guards and hopper heads

Roof Cleaning & Moss Removal

Roof Cleaning & Moss Removal in Billericay

Moss stripped, gutters cleared and the roof checked over properly while we are up there.

Heavy moss holds water against the tiles, blocks the gutters every autumn and hides the very defects you want to find early. We clear it carefully, clean up the debris and give you an honest report on what we found underneath.

  • Moss and lichen removed by hand and brush
  • Gutters and valleys cleared of debris
  • Biocide treatment on request
  • Loose and cracked tiles reported
  • Driveways and paths washed down afterwards
  • Photographs of anything we find

Solar Panel Cleaning & Bird Proofing

Solar Panel Cleaning & Bird Proofing in Billericay

Panels cleaned back to full output, and mesh fitted so pigeons stop nesting underneath them.

Dirty panels lose output, and the gap underneath them is a favourite nesting spot for pigeons — which is noisy, messy and hard on the roof. We clean the panels and fit proofing mesh around the array so nothing can get back in.

  • Solar panels cleaned safely from above
  • Galvanised proofing mesh clipped to the array
  • Nesting material and mess cleared out
  • Tiles under the array checked over
  • Gutter and valley debris removed
  • No damage to panel frames or fixings

Good to know

Common questions about our roofing work

Do you do small jobs, or only full roofs?

Small jobs are most of our week. A single slipped tile, a dripping gutter joint or a bit of loose lead is a perfectly normal call for us — and it is far cheaper to sort now than after a winter of water getting in.

Will I need scaffolding?

Not for most repairs, gutter work or roof cleaning — those are done from ladders and roof ladders. Any full re-roof, chimney rebuild or large flat roof does need scaffold, and we arrange and price that for you as part of the quote so there are no surprise extras.

Do you clear up afterwards?

Always. Old tiles, felt, nails and moss go in our own waste, the ground gets swept and magnet-rolled for nails, and anything we have washed down gets rinsed off. You should not be able to tell we were there apart from the roof.

Can you match my existing tiles?

Usually yes. We keep a stock of common Essex tiles and slates and can source reclaimed ones where a match matters — on a repair in a conservation area, for example. If an exact match genuinely is not available we will show you the nearest option before ordering anything.

Not sure which of these you need?

Describe what you are seeing and we will tell you what it usually turns out to be — then come and check it properly, free of charge.
